Budget Travel has a regular feature called "Secret Hotels of...", which covers affordable, charming, one-of-a-kind places to stay in a well-touristed region. For their May, 2007 issue, I wrote Secret Hotels of Paros and Antiparos. It was my first time on these Cycladic islands and I loved them--particularly the three bays of Naoussa, which are full of churches, cafes and restaurants (three of my favorite things), the volcanic rock formations at Kolimbithres beach, and a fabulous restaurant called Stillwater on laid-back Antiparos.
